The Center of the Story

It's a tale of two disciples. Peter is arrested, imprisoned, and awaiting execution. God intervenes and saves him. James, however, doesn't get so lucky. He is put to death by the sword. Why did God save Peter, and not James? Luke doesn't give us those answers. And there is a lot we can learn by him choosing not to answer those questions for us.
